PM released the Victory Day Commemorative postage stamps to mark the day
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina released commemorative postage stamps on Victory Day along with the new Minister of State for Posts and Telecommunications. On Saturday (December 16) in the morning, at the Prime Minister's Office, Ganobhaban. The Prime Minister released the inaugural envelope and seal along with the commemorative postage stamp.
Apart from State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Telecommunication Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, Director General of Postal Directorate Tarun Kanti Shikder and others were present.
The State Minister presented a book and a notebook to the Prime Minister on the occasion.
The stamps, envelopes and data cards will be sold from the Philatelic Bureau of the Dhaka GPO and will later be available at other GPOs and Head Post Offices across the country. Four GPOs also have a special seal for use on opening envelopes.
Earlier in the morning, the Prime Minister, laid floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, at first herself and later along with party leaders, laid wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi-32.
Before that, the President Shahabuddin and the Prime Minister paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the Independence War at Savar National Memorial. After that, she paid her respects again as the party president along with the party leaders and workers.
