No project can be accepted without due diligence: Palak
The State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak gave instructions to the concerned to accept the project by strictly following the three points of people's needs, what will be the return of the project and what is the accuracy of the development project. He said that there should be honesty, efficiency and accountability in the implementation of the project. Failure to do so will not exempt the person liable. He directed the concerned parties to ensure 100% implementation of ADP in the current financial year.
The State Minister gave this instruction at the annual development program review meeting of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications at the conference room of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications at the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka on Wednesday.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed Joy was congratulated for being appointed again as the unpaid Information and Communication Technology Advisor to the Prime Minister.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, Bangladesh is a role model of development in the world today due to the brilliant and courageous plan of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the architect of Digital Bangladesh and the visionary and wise leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 4 main pillars of Smart Bangladesh in 2041 have already been highlighted by Mr. Sajeeb Wazed Joy. The pillars are building smart citizens, smart economies, smart governments, and building smart societies. To build these four pillars on a strong foundation, what this ministry will do in the next 5 years will have to prepare a future plan in three steps. We are giving top priority to three sectors. That is to increase our export earnings, attract investment and create employment.
Department of Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman; BTRC, Directorate of Posts, BTCL, Directorate of Telecommunications, Submarine Cable Company Limited, Teletalk and TSS, heads of organizations under the Department of Posts and Telecommunications and project managers of various projects were present in the meeting. The implementation action plan of the projects undertaken in the current financial year of the Department of Telecommunication was discussed in detail In the meeting,. Organization heads and project managers presented their respective project implementation plans. Besides, the latest progress of the ongoing projects was discussed in detail.
The Minister of State gave necessary instructions to the Project Manager to complete the project work on time while maintaining the quality. The project managers expressed hope to complete the work of the projects within the stipulated time.
In the meeting, Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman assured the State Minister to take a strong role in taking strict action against those involved in any irregularities in the implementation of the project.
