State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak laid the foundation stone of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center at Kazipur in Sirajganj on Thursday. Engineer Tanvir Shakil Joy, MP of Sirajganj-1 constituency was present at the time. Today (Thursday) an informal discussion program was organized on the occasion at the Shaheed M Mansur Ali Auditorium in Kazipur, Sirajganj.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, State Minister for ICT Palak said, 'Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center' is a unique gift of the Prime Minister for the people of Sirajganj. We hope that the construction of this IT training center will be completed within the next year and a half and we will start operations here in two years. From here, one thousand young people will be able to arrange their employment with training every year. These young people will earn dollars by working in different markets of Europe and America while sitting in the remote areas of Sirajganj; There is no need to migrate abroad to earn dollars.
He further said that this project has been adopted with the aim of developing students as skilled manpower in IT at SSC and HSC level. The project will build bridges between academia and the IT industry by creating new entrepreneurs in the information and communication technology sector. As a result, there will be huge opportunities for self-employment of the youth of Bangladesh in the IT / ITES sector. Work is also underway to set up high-tech parks in different parts of the country to enable young entrepreneurs to work in the IT industry on a large scale after leaving the Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center. From here, one thousand young people will be able to arrange their employment with training from here every year.
The traditional business that has been conducted in Sirajganj for so long is now ready to contribute to the IT industry by creating new entrepreneurs in the IT sector by building our students as IT skilled manpower. Digital Bangladesh is in fact the modern form of the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu's dream. Due to the development of proper infrastructure in the ICT sector in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the number of Internet users is now more than 13 crores. About six lakh fifty thousand freelancers are earning 500 million dollars in foreign exchange. Broadband internet service has reached the villages. There is no substitute for technology education if our youth are to survive in this age of competition. That is why the government is working to build a technology-based nation. No more running around looking for a job; They will become entrepreneurs and give jobs to people. We are very happy that the foundation stone of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center has been laid in Sirajganj today. Through this, the field is ready for the people of Sirajganj to contribute in the IT industry.
In his welcome speech, the managing director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (Grade-1) Dr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh said the Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority is setting up Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers in 64 districts of the country to create skilled human resources in the IT sector as per the directions of the Hon'ble Prime Minister. As part of this, the foundation stone was laid in Sirajganj today. Apart from Sirajganj, Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers are being set up in 10 more districts (Manikganj, Bhola, Joypurhat, Kishoreganj, Kushtia, Bandarban, Narayanganj, Chandpur, Dinajpur and Meherpur) under this project. The project will be implemented in 11 districts at a cost of about Tk. 799 crore Taka with the fund of Bangladesh government under the overall supervision of Bangladesh Army.
