ICT competitions and seminars held at UITS

The 'Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024' roadshow was recently held with the students and faculty of the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) as part of co-curricular activities. On the same day, the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of UITS conducted a seminar at the university's Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Multipurpose Hall.

The press release sent by the university on Wednesday informed that the program was completed in two phases on November 11 from 8 am to 5 pm.

The press release informed that the seminar started with the welcome speech of IQAC Director Engineer Md. Safayet Hossain. Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam and Assistant Professor and Head of Department of CSE Al-Imtiaz were the speakers in the seminar. 

Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh), South Asia Enterprise Business Group Channel Partner Relationship Manager Md Shahjahan Ahmed and South Asia Enterprise Business Group Partner Operations Manager Md. Edul Hasan Mithun were present as guest speakers.

It is reported that 150,000 students from more than 2,300 universities in 80 countries will participate in the second phase of the ongoing Huawei ICT competition in the global round. Participants will complete specific courses from Huawei's online learning platform and six winners from the Bangladesh round will receive Huawei laptops. Regional winners will have the opportunity to participate in a global camp in China. There they can acquire advanced knowledge about ICT, AI, Cloud, Network Solutions etc.

For that purpose, the participating students of ITS University study, prepare and take mock tests for three competitive rounds at national, regional and global levels. The seminar highlights the latest ICT and technologies involved in the competition by providing students with information about the competition, its objectives, eligibility requirements and registration process.
