11 e-commerce enterprises got UBID registration  for the first time

The Unique Business Identification (UBID) number was launched on Sunday to restore order in the country's evolving digital commerce sector. From now on, those who are doing business online through Facebook will be brought under registration from this app. On the first day, 11 companies registered their business at the soft launch event. The registered enterprises are Chaldal.com, Diabetic Store, Rokomari.com, Ajker Deal, Sajgoj, Jachai.com, Trinash, Nowris Mirror, Ankhis Collection, Anand Bazar Merchant and Facebook Shop Anand Bazar Merchant. Earlier in the morning, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurated the app after a review meeting on the overall issue of digital commerce at the Secretariat. "We had a meeting three months ago and decided to launch at least one platform in three months," he said. “I am glad to be able to fulfill that commitment. I think we are getting the results of Digital Bangladesh after today's platform. We are trying to get the money of e-commerce customers back stuck in gateways. Some of the money has already been reimbursed. We are trying the rest. Meanwhile, Salman F Rahman, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment, said that the process of digital transformation of business was a timely step towards overcoming the current crisis. The advisor said, 'I think this platform is a good initiative for those who are women entrepreneurs. This will help them to do business in a better way. This meeting today was also decided that we will have more inter-ministerial meetings. Other problems include problems with TIN numbers and trade licenses, opening bank accounts, and financing. We have decided to resolve everything through an inter-ministerial meeting. Besides, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak gave details about the process. The head of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) Masud Biswas, FBCCI President Md. Jasim Uddin, President of E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (eCAB) Shomi Kaiser, General Secretary Abdul Waheed Tamal, Additional IG of Police CID Barrister Mahbububar Rahman, a2i Policy Adviser Anir Chowdhury, SB, Digital Security Agency, National Conservation Rights, National Consumer Rights Representatives of 16 organizations including the department were present on the occasion. At the ceremony, the ICT department handed over the registration process to the joint venture company. It is informed that a2i will provide related technical support in this regard. It was further informed at the event that this registration can be done only with National Identity Card number, permanent address and bank account number. The Central Logistics Management System (CCMS) is being set up to deal with complaints against registered online organizations, including UBIID. As a result, any company without registration will no longer be able to do business online.
