Driving renewable energy adoption, environmental sustainability, and local employment, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has officially inaugurated a high-tech 'Biogas Plant Installation and Motivation Training Program' in Chakaria, Cox's Bazar.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haq inaugurated the clean energy initiative on Tuesday (October 20, 2026) as the chief guest.

The event was attended by Seed Fines and Biogas Plant Project Director A K M Mofizul Islam, the Chakaria Upazila Nirbahi Officer, local dairy farmers, and environmental stakeholders. To accelerate adoption, financial credit support of BDT 2 lakh each was disbursed to two farmers alongside certificates for training graduates.

Delivering his address, State Minister Md. Aminul Haq stated, "Deploying biogas technology is a critical step toward environmental protection and reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels. Owning as few as three cows is sufficient to set up a functional household biogas plant."

He further noted that the government is modernizing youth trade training programs nationwide to eliminate unemployment. To empower young tech entrepreneurs, the ministry has taken policy decisions to increase credit limits and provide low-interest loans for setting up decentralized biogas infrastructure across rural Bangladesh.
