Airfares for Hajj flights have been significantly reduced. In 2023, the airfare for a Hajj flight was around BDT 200,000. In 2025, it was brought down to BDT 167,820. This year, it has been further reduced to BDT 130,000. As a result, the general Hajj package under private management has been fixed at BDT 513,648.
Minister for Religious Affairs Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaiko bad) announced the Hajj 2027 packages at a press conference held at the Secretariat on Tuesday (July 21).
Two Hajj packages have been set for government management. Among them, the minimum cost for the affordable package has been set at BDT 505,648, while the cost for the premium package has been fixed at BDT 615,263.
The Minister informed that the cost for Government Hajj Package-1 is BDT 615,263. Pilgrims under this package will get accommodation within 1,000 to 1,400 meters from the Haram Sharif in Makkah and in the Markazia area of Madinah. Tents will be arranged in Zone-2 in Mina. Services and meals will be provided through Moallems according to Service Package-3 in Mina-Arafat. The duration of stay in Saudi Arabia will generally be 35 to 40 days. Pilgrims will also have the option to upgrade rooms or opt for short-term packages by paying additional fees.
He added that Hajj Package-2 (Affordable) is priced at BDT 505,648. Under this package, accommodation will be arranged within 2 to 3 kilometers from Haram Sharif in Makkah and within 800 meters from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi outside the Markazia area in Madinah. Tents will be allocated in Zone-5 in Mina. If the hotel is located more than two kilometers away, Salami bus services will be provided as per Saudi government regulations.
The Minister mentioned that the government's election manifesto pledged an affordable, accessible, humane, and expatriate-friendly Hajj management. In continuation of this commitment, under the Prime Minister's initiative, the airfare for Hajj flights has been reduced by BDT 24,830 compared to last year, fixing it at BDT 130,000.
He stated that during Sheikh Hasina's regime in 2023, the Hajj airfare was nearly BDT 200,000. In 2025, during the interim government, it was reduced to BDT 167,820. Now, it has been slashed even further to BDT 130,000.
Regarding private management, the Minister stated that the General Hajj Package for Private Management is set at BDT 513,648. Accommodation under this package must be within 3 kilometers from Haram Sharif in Makkah and within 1 kilometer from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah. A maximum of six persons will be accommodated per room. Tents will be in Zone-5 in Mina, and meals and services will be provided as per Service Package-3 in Mina-Arafat. Salami bus service will be mandatory if the hotel is more than two kilometers away.
The Minister also noted that enlisted eligible Hajj agencies must form groups based on the minimum quota set by the Saudi government before registration begins. Although adopting the government-approved general package is mandatory, grouped agencies can announce up to three additional packages through mutual coordination. However, no agency can offer a package with fewer services than the government-announced Hajj Package-2.
