Prime Bank Praises Pioneers on MSME Day
In celebration of MSME Day, Prime Bank has honored seven entrepreneurial clients in recognition of their exceptional contributions across diverse sectors. The awardees were selected from more than 11,500 active borrowers based on a set of criteria including product diversity, revenue, workforce size, relationship with the bank, gender of the entrepreneur, and type of business (manufacturing, service, or trading). Among the honorees, six represented the SME sector and one was from the agricultural sector.
The honors were handed over at a ceremony held on Saturday at a hotel in Dhaka, with Md. Naushad Mostafa, Director of the SME Department of Bangladesh Bank, presenting the awards to the entrepreneurs.
The initiative was detailed in a press release issued by Prime Bank. The keynote speech at the event was delivered by Md. Nazim Hasan Sattar, Deputy Managing Director of SME Foundation. Prime Bank's CEO Hassan O. Rashid, Deputy Managing Director M. Nazim A. Chowdhury, and other senior officials were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Hassan O. Rashid said, “The SME sector is the driving force of the national economy. It generates employment, contributes to rural development, and lays the foundation of a self-reliant Bangladesh. The growth of this sector leads to prosperity, stability, and an equitable society. Prime Bank has long been engaged in supporting and financing the development of the MSME sector. This recognition will encourage the entrepreneurs further and play a significant role in the sustainable development of the country.”
