AB Party Dismisses Rumors of Secretary-General Barrister Fuad’s Arrest
Reports claiming that AB Party’s Secretary-General, Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, has been arrested began circulating on social media from midnight on Monday, March 24. However, the party’s Chairman, Mojibur Rahman Monju, has dismissed the news as “false and propaganda.”
According to Monju, several social media accounts linked to the ousted Awami League have been spreading this misinformation. Additionally, a video showing hundreds of law enforcement personnel marching down a street has been widely shared, seemingly to create the impression that security forces have been deployed across Dhaka.
Clarifying the situation through a text message, Monju stated, “The news of Secretary-General Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad’s arrest is fake and false propaganda.”
Following the fall of former autocratic Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, certain groups—some of whom are reportedly based outside Bangladesh—have been attempting to spread rumors almost every night.
