Reproductive Research Training: RU Hosts AI-Based Animal Breeding Workshop

A training workshop on artificial breeding and reproductive management was held at the Narikelbaria campus of University of Rajshahi. Organized by the university’s Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in collaboration with BRAC AI Enterprise, the evaluation-based workshop was attended by a total of 45 participants, including 40 men and 5 women. Among them, RU student Mintu Dey secured first place, while Aminul Islam (Chandpur) and Imran Hossain Molla jointly secured second place. Zahirul Islam achieved third place.

On Thursday, April 16, certificates and practical kits were distributed among the trainees at the closing ceremony. The certificates were handed over to the winners by Professor Mohammad Main Uddin, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration), and Professor Farid Uddin Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) of the University of Rajshahi.

The closing session was presided over by Course Coordinator Professor Md. Jalal Uddin Sardar of the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. Among others present were Professor Khandakar Md. Mozzafar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences; Professor Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman of the Department; and Dr. Muhammad Al Helal Mondol, Veterinary Surgeon at BRAC AI Enterprise.

The event was conducted by Dr. Md. Hemayetul Islam Arif. At the beginning of the workshop, a recitation from the Holy Qur’an was performed by Md. Khairullah, a student from Kishoreganj. A welcome speech was later delivered by Dr. Md. Akhtarul Islam, Professor of the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. On behalf of the trainees, Md. Zahirul Islam from Tangail also spoke.
