Railway Releases March 15 Eid Travel Tickets on Third Day of Advance Sales
On the third day of advance ticket sales ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, tickets for March 15 Eid journeys have been made available. The tickets were opened for sale on Thursday, March 5, after 8:00 am through the Bangladesh Railway website and the Rail Sheba app.
Tickets for trains in the western region were available in the morning, while sales for all intercity trains in the eastern region will begin from 2:00 pm.
To ensure smooth travel for homebound passengers during Eid-ul-Fitr, Bangladesh Railway is once again selling seven days’ advance tickets for intercity trains under special arrangements. For passengers’ convenience, 100 percent of the tickets are being sold online.
According to the decision of Bangladesh Railway, tickets for March 16 will be available on March 6, tickets for March 17 on March 7, tickets for March 18 on March 8, and tickets for March 19 on March 9.
Railway sources said the sale of return journey tickets will begin on March 13 and continue until March 19. Accordingly, tickets for return travel between March 23 and March 29 will be released in phases.
To handle the additional passenger pressure during Eid, the railway authorities have decided to operate 20 special trains, including five pairs of special services. In addition, 47 extra meter-gauge coaches will be attached from the Pahartali Workshop. Authorities also announced that the weekly off-days of all intercity trains will remain suspended from March 16 until the day before Eid.
