Nagad Notches New National Transaction Record
Nagad, the digital financial service of the Bangladesh Post Office, has recorded its highest-ever annual transaction volume in a single year. In the recently concluded year of 2025, the fintech service processed transactions worth nearly Tk 380,000 crore, up from around Tk 330,000 crore in 2024.
In addition, Nagad users carried out transactions worth Tk 35,530 crore in December alone, marking the highest monthly transaction volume in the platform’s history. Notably, this monthly record was broken three times during 2025.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Saturday, January 3, by the fintech service operated under the Bangladesh Post Office. On the occasion of achieving this new milestone, Nagad Administrator Md. Motashim Billah extended his greetings to all stakeholders, including customers, employees, distributors, and entrepreneurs associated with the service.
Speaking on the achievement, Md. Motashim Billah said Nagad has consistently worked to offer added value to its customers, including various campaigns throughout the year, alongside maintaining the lowest cash-out charges in the market. He attributed the repeated milestones to customers’ trust in the service and the dedicated efforts of Nagad’s workforce.
He further stated that as a digital transaction service of the Bangladesh Post Office, Nagad is moving forward by ensuring greater security of customers’ funds through improved services. As a result, new users are joining the platform, while existing customers are conducting transactions more comfortably and at higher volumes than before. The expansion of services and operational activities has also significantly enhanced Nagad’s transaction capacity, he added.
Previously, Nagad set a monthly transaction record in October last year by processing over Tk 34,705 crore. Before that, the platform reached Tk 34,000 crore in transactions in a single month in March 2025. Earlier still, in June 2024, monthly transactions through Nagad stood at Tk 32,000 crore.
