Pornographic Pair Pinched: CID Nabs Top-Ranked Online Duo in Bandarban

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a controversial couple from Bangladesh who had allegedly become among the top-ranked performers in the international porn industry while residing inside the country. The arrests were made by the CID’s LIC and Cyber Police Centre (CPC) units at 3:30 am on Monday, October 20, from the Balaghata area of Hajipara in Bandarban district.
CID authorities confirmed that investigations and operations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of their criminal activities, identify other individuals involved, and bring them to justice. At the same time, 112 pornographic videos linked to the duo have been blocked in Bangladesh from international platforms.
The arrested individuals were identified as Muhammad Azim (28) and Brishti (28). Azim hails from Burumchhara in Anwara upazila of Chattogram, while Brishti is from Andharmanik (Khalpar) village in Harirampur upazila of Manikganj.
Speaking at a press conference held at the CID headquarters in Malibagh in the afternoon, Special Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jasim Uddin Khan revealed that several items — including mobile phones, SIM cards, cameras, and tripods — were seized as evidence. A case has been filed against the two under the Pornography Control Act 2012.
According to the CID, the couple first released a video on an international platform in May 2024. Within a year, they had uploaded 112 videos, which garnered over 26.7 million views. Preliminary investigations found that the duo ranked eighth among performers worldwide on one major platform.
In response to a question, Jasim Uddin Khan said, “The online world is open to everyone, so it cannot be entirely controlled. However, we have ensured that the 112 published videos cannot be viewed from Bangladesh. We are also investigating how much money they earned from this, through which channels they brought it into the country, and how they recruited or motivated others to join.”
He further noted that the pair, who could not complete primary education and came from poor families, led a “lavish lifestyle” online. “Their online presence depicts a luxurious way of life, which is both socially and morally alarming,” he remarked.
The CID official added that the couple was not only involved in producing pornographic videos but also in recruiting others into the same illicit trade. “Reports had already surfaced in various media about this duo, revealing that within just one year, Muhammad Azim and Brishti had risen to become among the world’s top performers, ranking eighth globally as of October 2025,” he said.
Quoting preliminary interrogations, Jasim Uddin Khan informed that the pair uploaded videos to multiple international porn websites and promoted their work openly across social media platforms including Telegram, Facebook, and Instagram. They also posted messages enticing others to join the industry. “They would offer cash rewards for adding new creators to their Telegram channel,” he said.
The CID’s LIC and CPC units acted swiftly to arrest the couple, he added, emphasizing that “their actions were not only morally corrupt but also criminal under the law.” The CID continues its investigation to “uncover the full network, identify other accomplices, and take legal measures accordingly.”
