Gurman Reveals Dual User Interface Smart Glass Strategy
Popular tech analyst Mark Gurman has unveiled new information about Apple’s upcoming smart glasses. In his Power On newsletter, he reported that instead of developing a direct successor to the Vision Pro, Apple is focusing on a lightweight and wearable smart glass—similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban display. The report was carried by The Verge.
According to Gurman, the new smart glasses will operate on Apple’s VisionOS system. Its standout feature will be a dual user interface (UI)—running the full VisionOS interface when connected to a Mac, and switching to a lighter, mobile-friendly version when paired with an iPhone.
Analysts suggest this move marks a significant evolution in Apple’s wearable ecosystem, allowing users to seamlessly balance productivity and entertainment through a single device.
Gurman also hinted that the project remains in its early development stage but could ultimately shape the future of Apple’s mixed-reality strategy.
