Bangladesh's young and skilled IT professionals can play a vital role in addressing Japan's growing demand for technology talent, speakers said at a technology seminar in Tokyo, highlighting the success of the B-JET programme and the Miyazaki-Bangladesh Model Framework.

More than 2,000 Bangladeshi IT professionals are already working successfully in Japanese companies under these initiatives, creating a strong foundation for deeper technology cooperation between the two countries.

The seminar, jointly organised by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo, Brain Station 23 and JETRO, brought together leading Japanese system integrators, technology executives and industry stakeholders.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md. Daud Ali delivered the keynote address. He said Bangladesh is well positioned to become a reliable partner for Japan as the country faces demographic challenges and an increasing shortage of skilled technology professionals.

He noted that Bangladesh has a large pool of talented young engineers capable of supporting Japan's expanding digital economy and urged Japanese technology companies to strengthen collaboration with Bangladeshi professionals.

JETRO Global Strategy Senior Director Yuji Ando and Sumitomo Corporation Director Taro Kawachi discussed opportunities for expanding bilateral business and technology partnerships.

Tatsuya Ishinaka, Managing Director of One Terrace Incorporated, presented an overview of Japan's technology market, workforce demand and future business prospects.

During the technical session, Brain Station 23 Japan representatives Yasufumi Kajiura and MJ Ferdous, Director and Partner presented practical case studies demonstrating how artificial intelligence (AI) is accelerating software development, improving project quality and reducing operational costs across technology projects.

The closing session featured remarks from Brain Station 23 representatives Kesho Cho and M. J. Ferdous. Participants later joined a networking session with representatives from Japanese technology companies to explore future collaboration, talent exchange and joint business opportunities.
