Huawei’s High-Powered Hardware: Shanghai Showcase Sparks AI Showdown
Chinese technology giant Huawei unveiled its new AI computing system, CloudMetricks 384, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) held in Shanghai, with experts noting that it can compete with Nvidia’s latest GB200 AVL72 system, Reuters reported.
Huawei stated that the system incorporates 384 of its proprietary Ascend 910C chips and is built on a high-speed “SuperNode” architecture, which ensures rapid interconnection among the chips.
Semiconductor analyst Dylan Patel commented, “Huawei’s system has surpassed Nvidia in certain aspects. Although each chip is comparatively weaker, Huawei has compensated for this through its advanced system design.”
Despite facing U.S. export restrictions, Huawei is emerging as a key domestic supplier in China’s AI sector.
