Railway Rolls Out Eid Advance Ticket Sales Online
Bangladesh Railway has officially launched the advance sale of Eid train tickets online, facilitating smooth travel planning for holiday commuters. On Wednesday, May 21, at 8:00 AM, advance ticket sales for trains operating in the western region of the railway network began, while sales for eastern region trains commenced at 2:00 PM.
As per the schedule set by Bangladesh Railway, tickets for intercity train journeys on May 31 will be sold on May 21. Subsequently, tickets for June 1 to June 6 will be available on May 22 through May 27 respectively.
This year, a total of 33,315 seats have been allocated for intercity trains. To accommodate the holiday rush, Bangladesh Railway has implemented a special system for the advance sale of Eid tickets. Under this arrangement, purchased tickets are non-refundable. Each passenger can book up to four seats per transaction.
Return tickets for post-Eid travel will go on sale starting May 30. Tickets purchased on that day will be valid for travel on June 9. Likewise, tickets for June 10 to June 15 will be sold from May 31 to June 5 respectively.
This online initiative aims to streamline ticketing and reduce congestion at railway counters, ensuring a more convenient and organized experience for travelers during the festive period.
