Professor Yunus Invites Elon Musk to Bangladesh, Urges Starlink Launch Within 90 Days

Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor, has extended an invitation to prominent U.S. entrepreneur and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to visit Bangladesh. Alongside the invitation, Professor Yunus has called on Musk to initiate Starlink satellite services in Bangladesh within the next 90 working days.

The invitation was made through an official letter sent to Musk, following a phone conversation between the two on February 13. Professor Yunus sent the formal letter on Wednesday, February 19, encouraging Musk to engage with the youth of Bangladesh, whom he described as the primary beneficiaries of Starlink’s services.

In his letter, Professor Yunus wrote, “Come and meet the young men and women of Bangladesh — they will be the main beneficiaries of Starlink.” He further emphasized the potential for collaboration, stating, “Let us work together to achieve our shared goal for a better future.”

The letter highlighted Starlink’s potential to play a pivotal role in Bangladesh’s infrastructure development, particularly benefiting the country’s enterprising youth, rural and marginalized women, and remote, underserved communities.

To expedite the process, Professor Yunus has instructed his High Representative, Khalilur Rahman, to work closely with the SpaceX team to ensure the successful launch of Starlink services in Bangladesh within the proposed 90-day timeline.
