Again, the 163 programmers are made permanent in ICT Department
163 programmers of two projects of information and communication technology department got the guarantee of permanent employment from the development project after about a month of giving a 24-hour ultimatum by holding a press conference. This notification has been issued by the President's order in the second phase on Sunday.
Earlier, on August 15, the director general of the department, Mustafa Kamal, blocked three officials, including the director general of the department, over the perpetuation of the illegal jobs of the officials transferred from the project to the revenue sector. The notification was suspended the next day.
Then Assistant Programmer Shahidul Islam explained the reason behind the suspension of notification in a press conference at Sagar-Runi Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity on August 19th. In the press conference, it was demanded to grant seniority to all grade 9 officers, promote them on the basis of background and cancel the Additional Secretary Habibur Rahman Committee. Programmer - Tahniatul Islam Edison, Assistant Programmer Nurul Amin and Ahsan Habib, Jahangir Alam were present.
But after that, the responsibilities of the top level officials in the ICT department started changing one after another. On that basis, Mustafa Kamal was removed from the post of Director General and Manwara Ishrat was given the acting responsibility. At the same time, a committee of 9 members has also been formed to investigate irregularities and corruption in various projects.
