Mir Ahmad Bin Qasem Arman lost his mobile phone after falling victim to fraud as a guest at an event organized by the Dhaka University branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir. Immediately after the incident, a General Diary (GD) was filed with the Shahbagh Police Station.

The incident took place on July 18, Saturday, around 6:30 PM. In a post on social media Facebook at night, Arman requested help and wrote, "I have been a victim of mobile fraud. I was broadcasting live on my mobile during an event on July by the Dhaka University branch of Islami Chhatra Shibir. At that time, a young man wearing the ID card of the event came and said, 'Give the phone to my hand, you speak comfortably.' Trusting the ID card, I handed over the phone to him and was narrating. After a while, I saw he vanished with the phone." He further wrote, "If anyone finds any trace of that person or recognizes him, please contact Sajjad Hossain (+880 1839-652727) or Abdul Malek (Assistant) (+880 1407-786247)."

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall AGS Mushfiq Tajwar Mahir said, "Arman's mobile phone was stolen from the July exhibition event. Right after the incident, Arman went to the Shahbagh Police Station taking me along. A GD was filed there." Regarding this, Shahbagh Police Station ASI Jewel Mozumder stated, "Mir Ahmed Bin Qasem has filed a GD regarding the theft of the mobile phone. The matter is being investigated."
