Hotline Directive to Tackle Crime in Lalpur Within 24 Hours

State Minister for Social Welfare and Member of Parliament for Natore-1 constituency, Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul, has instructed the launch of a special hotline within the next 24 hours in Lalpur, Natore, to curb cybercrime and ensure that public complaints regarding issues such as drugs, rape, and illegal sand extraction are promptly communicated to the administration.

She issued the directive on Monday morning, 23 March, while speaking as the chief guest at an Eid reunion and exchange meeting with administrative officers held at the Lalpur Upazila Parishad conference room. During the meeting, the State Minister placed special emphasis on taking effective measures to control the growing prevalence of cybercrimes, including IMO hacking, in Lalpur.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued after the meeting from the office of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer. According to the statement, the State Minister urged the administration to adopt a stricter stance to maintain law and order and instructed that swift legal action be taken against those involved in criminal activities. She also reiterated a firm position against illegal sand extraction in the Padma River and directed the relevant authorities to conduct regular drives. Additionally, the meeting discussed allegations of artificial shortages of fuel at filling stations, with instructions given to strengthen regular monitoring and ensure the swift normalization of supply.

To enable ordinary citizens to directly report their complaints and problems, Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul set a deadline to launch the hotline service by 24 March.

Lalpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Julhas Hossain Saurav assured that the directives would be implemented at the earliest possible time.

Officials from various departments of the upazila administration and local public representatives were present at the meeting.
