$30.5 Million Deal Signed at BEPZA for Hydroponics Tent Production
A specialized portable structure for soilless cultivation, known as a greenhouse hydroponics tent, is set to be manufactured in Bangladesh. China (Hong Kong)-based company Green Pure Houseware (BD) Company Limited is investing US$30.47 million in the project. In addition to producing greenhouse hydroponics tents, the company will also manufacture EVA cabinet mats, cartons, and PE packaging film with this investment.
To this end, Green Pure Houseware (BD) Company Limited has signed a land lease agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA). The agreement was signed on Sunday, 1 March, at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka in the presence of BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain.
On behalf of BEPZA, Executive Director (Investment Development) Md. Tanvir Hossain signed the agreement, while Managing Director Wang Shenyu signed on behalf of Green Pure Houseware (BD) Company Limited.
Welcoming the company, the BEPZA Executive Chairman reiterated the authority’s commitment to providing all necessary support for business operations and ensuring an investment-friendly environment.
The signing ceremony was attended by BEPZA Member (Engineering) Abdullah Al Mamun, Member (Finance) A N M Faizul Haque, Executive Director (Public Relations) A.S.M. Anwar Parvez, along with other senior officials of BEPZA and representatives of the company.
It has been learned that hydroponics tents are considered a non-traditional and high value-added export product, aligning with BEPZA’s strategic objective of product diversification and entry into specialized global markets. The manufactured products will be exported to various countries, including the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Japan. The company is expected to create employment opportunities for approximately 3,000 Bangladeshi nationals.
