MG Bangladesh has officially launched its new hybrid SUV series in the local market, aiming to promote fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles. Prices for the newly introduced hybrid SUVs start at BDT 4.9 million.
According to the company, the MG HS Hybrid Plus model features a smart hybrid power system capable of producing a maximum output of 221.3 BHP. The model offers an impressive fuel efficiency of up to approximately 23.8 kilometers per litre.
Meanwhile, the MG HS Super Hybrid—also known as the plug-in hybrid variant—has been priced at BDT 5.9 million. This model is equipped with a 24.7 kWh battery that allows the vehicle to travel more than 120 kilometers solely on electric power after a full charge, enabling zero carbon emissions during short daily commutes. When operating with both a fully charged battery and a full fuel tank, the vehicle’s total driving range exceeds 1,000 kilometers. As an added benefit, MG Bangladesh is offering a complimentary 7.4 kW home charging station with this model.
The MG HS Hybrid Plus and MG HS Super Hybrid (Plug-in Hybrid) were officially unveiled on Saturday, 17 January.
Speaking at the launch event, MG Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Hossain Mashnur Chowdhury said the occasion was more than just the introduction of two new vehicles. “It reflects MG’s long-term commitment to shaping a sustainable and modern transportation future in Bangladesh,” he said. He added that the HS Hybrid Plus and HS Super Hybrid combine advanced technology, high fuel efficiency, and premium comfort, setting a new benchmark in the hybrid SUV segment.
MG Bangladesh Executive Director Muhammad Mostafizur Rashid Bhuiya said the new hybrid models continue MG’s innovation-driven strategy. “The positive response from customers proves that Bangladesh is ready for next-generation smart mobility. The HS series will establish new standards in the C-segment SUV category,” he noted.
In terms of design and features, the new HS series reflects a modern aesthetic. The interior includes a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a similarly sized digital instrument cluster, ensuring enhanced navigation, connectivity, and user-friendly controls. With a wheelbase of 2,720 millimeters, the vehicles offer ample interior space and comfortable rides. A ground clearance of 176 millimeters allows easy driving across diverse road conditions in Bangladesh. Externally, the SUVs feature 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, and MG’s latest global SUV design language.
Special emphasis has been placed on safety and practicality. The vehicles offer a boot capacity of approximately 507 litres, expandable to over 1,484 litres with the rear seats folded. Standard safety features include seven airbags, MG Pilot ADAS Level-2, a PM 2.5 air filtration system, and a high-quality multi-speaker sound system—ensuring a secure and comfortable driving experience for passengers.
