Metro Rail Services to Remain Suspended for 40 Minutes on Victory Day
Metro rail services in the city will remain suspended for 40 minutes on Victory Day (December 16) to ensure the safety of paratroopers during a scheduled parachute jump.
The information was disclosed on Monday (December 15) through a post on the verified Facebook page of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the operator of the metro rail system.
According to the post, a parajump event will take place in the Tejgaon Old Airport area on the occasion of Victory Day. For security reasons, metro rail operations will remain temporarily halted from 11:50 am to 12:30 pm on December 16.
DMTCL has expressed sincere apologies to passengers for the temporary inconvenience caused by the service suspension.
