BYD and HONOR Bond for Smarter Mobility
Global electric vehicle giant BYD and AI-driven device ecosystem leader HONOR have signed a partnership agreement aimed at enriching customer experiences through user-centric solutions that integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced connectivity.
The collaboration will focus on three key areas—core technology enhancement, ecosystem integration, and user engagement. Through this partnership, HONOR’s vehicle connectivity solutions will be integrated with BYD’s next-generation DiLink smart ecosystem to create a seamless intelligent mobility experience.
According to sources, both companies will jointly develop cross-device integration, AI agent integration, and Bluetooth-based smart car key technology. Additionally, the two firms will create a model to ensure maximum interoperability between HONOR-connected vehicles and BYD’s intelligent vehicle ecosystem. The partnership also extends to joint marketing campaigns, new product launches, and initiatives to enhance user engagement.
The signing ceremony was recently held in the presence of Fang Fei, President of Products at HONOR, and Yang Dongsheng, Senior Vice President of BYD, who signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Also present were HONOR’s CEO, James Li, BYD Group Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu, and other senior executives from both companies.
Speaking on the occasion, HONOR CEO James Li said, “At HONOR, we believe that a user-centric approach combined with technology is crucial to unlocking human potential. In this AI era, our partnership with BYD is centered on smart mobility. Together, we will drive technological progress, strengthen each other’s capabilities, and create an AI-powered mobility experience ecosystem that will make the journey toward smart living more enjoyable and open new horizons.”
HONOR and BYD first partnered in 2023 to develop NFC-based smart car key technology, allowing BYD users to lock and unlock their cars using HONOR smartphones. The partnership expanded in 2024 to include in-vehicle fast-charging solutions. Earlier this year, the two companies launched “HONOR Car Connect,” now available in BYD’s Denza models, with plans for integration across other BYD brands soon. As the collaboration deepens, both firms are working to introduce innovative features such as phone-to-car connectivity and digital keys—further blending intelligence, convenience, and mobility.
