The Bangladesh team has won three bronze medals at the 36th International Biology Olympiad (IBO), held in Manila, Philippines. The bronze medalists are Arij Anas from South Point School & College, Farabid Bin Faisal from Mastermind English Medium School, and Ha-Meem Rahman from Notre Dame College.

Although the event was scheduled to run from July 20 to 27, the results were announced a day early on July 26. The team was led by Professor Rakhahari Sarkar, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Biology Olympiad, and Professor Mrityunjay Kundu, a senior member of the committee. The fourth team member was Marzan Afroz from Rajuk Uttara Model College.

The journey to the international stage began with more than 8,500 students participating in regional festivals held across 10 venues in Bangladesh between May 16 and 24. From there, 1,190 students were selected to compete in the national round at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) on May 31, 2025. The winners then attended a national residential bio-camp, from which the top four were chosen to represent Bangladesh in the international event. The final selection round took place on June 19 at Daffodil International University.

The Bangladesh Biology Olympiad Committee (BDBOC) organized the national event. The National Institute of Biotechnology and Daffodil International University supported the training process, while Lab Bangla provided technical assistance.
