Robi’s Super Sunday to Spotlight Hamza’s Home Debut

For the first time, English league star Hamza Choudhury will take the field in Bangladesh wearing the national jersey. The much-anticipated AFC Asian Cup qualifier is set to take place at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on June 10.

Ahead of the game, mobile operator Robi has infused added excitement into its weekly offer by aligning it with football fever. Beginning May 25, Robi will launch “Super Sunday,” offering its users a chance to win VIP tickets to the upcoming match. Winners will get to enjoy the event from the VIP gallery through the Robi app.

To this end, Robi signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Monday, May 19, at Robi Axiata’s corporate office in Tejgaon, Dhaka. The announcement was made during a joint press conference following the signing.

Present at the event were Robi’s Acting CEO M Riaz Rashid, Chief Commercial Officer Shihab Ahmad, and BFF Vice President Fahad Karim, alongside Executive Committee members Iqbal Hossain, Golam Gaus, Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, and Kamrul Hasan Hilton.

Speaking at the press conference, Robi CCO Shihab Ahmad said, “Through the Super Sunday campaign, we want to turn one day of the week into an exhilarating experience for our users. Encouraged by their positive response, we are making this upcoming Super Sunday even more special by offering a chance to watch Hamza Choudhury live in action. I believe with international-caliber players like Hamza and Shamit joining the national team, we can present Bangladesh football on a stronger global stage. We are proud to be part of such a patriotic initiative.”

BFF Vice President Fahad Karim added, “We are thrilled about this partnership with Robi. It will inspire both players and fans alike. We look forward to collaborating with Robi on a larger scale in the future.”

However, the process and the number of tickets to be distributed have yet to be finalized.
