Wireless fast charging facility in Android
The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has unveiled a second version of its wireless charger QR, 'QI2', which mimics some of Apple's MagSafe charging techniques. The company plans to create a universal system that will work on Android and Apple devices. News Engadget.
WPC announced their plans in a press release. QI2 will 'replace' the current QR standard that has been around for over 13 years.
The QU2 will be built using Apple's MagSafe technology that came with the iPhone 12. The same type of magnet and wireless charging coil will be used there.
However, beyond the MagSafe technology, something new called 'Magnetic Power Profile' will come with QI2. This will ensure that the phone and other devices are getting the maximum charging speed properly. Besides, WPC will ensure the compatibility of this technology among different brands.
Details will be known in the next few months, but those interested may have to wait until the end of this year for the product to arrive.
