CUET Convenes Conference on Physics for Sustainable Development
The Department of Physics at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has successfully concluded the two-day 6th International Conference on Physics for Sustainable Development and Technology (ICPSDT)-2025.
The conference brought together leading academicians, scholars, and researchers from universities and scientific research institutions across the United States, China, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. It featured three keynote speakers and fifteen invited speakers. Out of 400 submitted papers, a total of 274 were presented—165 as oral presentations and 109 as posters.
The closing ceremony took place on Thursday evening, October 30, at the CUET TSC Cafeteria. The event’s chief guest was Professor Dr. Saleh Hasan Naqib, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Rajshahi.
Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of CUET, attended as Guest of Honor. The special guest was Professor Dr. A.H. Rashedul Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology. The event was presided over by the conference’s Technical Chair, Professor Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy of the Department of Physics.
The welcome address was delivered by the conference’s Technical Member Secretary, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraf Ali, also of the Department of Physics. Among those present were the Conference Chair and Head of the Department of Physics, Professor Dr. H.M.A.R. Maruf, and Conference Secretary Professor Dr. Animesh Kumar Chakraborty.
The program was conducted by master’s students of the Department of Physics, Sabrina Sultana Sima and Arju Akter Asma.
The overall supervision of the conference was carried out by CUET authorities, with sponsorship from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh.
