BCS Elects New Executive Committee for 2025–2027 Term

The Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) has formed its Executive Committee for the 2025–2027 term. The announcement was made on Monday, June 23. Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Managing Director of Smart Technologies (BD) Limited, has been elected as the new President. Muhammad Monirul Islam, Managing Director of Computer City Technologies Limited, has been elected as the General Secretary.

Other members of the newly formed committee include Md. Wahidul Hasan Dipu (Proprietor, Landmark Computers) as Vice President, Md. Ahsanul Islam (Proprietor, PC Garden) as Joint General Secretary, and Abul Hasan (Proprietor, HM Computers) as Treasurer.

Md. Nazrul Islam Hazarie (Proprietor, Welkin Computers) and Md. Iqbal Hossain (Proprietor, Jazzy) have been appointed as Directors.

Notably, the seven members were elected unopposed as directors on Saturday, June 21, 2025. As per the election schedule, the directors submitted nomination papers for respective positions on June 22. Since there were no rival candidates for any post, the Election Board officially announced the results of the portfolio allocation on June 23.

The BCS Election Board was chaired by Sharif Raihan Kabir, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce. Other board members included Sandeep Kumar Sarker, also a Deputy Secretary, and Md. Sirajul Islam, Deputy Controller at the Ministry.

Nahid Afroze, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, is currently serving as the Administrator of BCS. She is expected to hand over responsibilities to the newly elected Executive Committee soon.
