Google and PayPal have entered into a multi-year strategic partnership to introduce new artificial intelligence–based shopping and payment features for users. The announcement was made Wednesday in a joint statement, Reuters reported.

Following the declaration, PayPal’s share price rose by more than 3 percent.

Under the agreement, PayPal’s various solutions — including PayPal-branded checkout, Hyperwallet, and Payouts — will be integrated into Google’s products.

Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the partnership will enhance Google’s services and security through artificial intelligence, while deeply embedding PayPal’s innovative payment capabilities into Google platforms.

Through this agreement, PayPal’s enterprise payments will serve as the primary processor for card payments across several services, including Google Cloud and Google Play.

Earlier this month, PayPal announced a partnership with AI-powered search company Perplexity, enabling its users to trial the pro version of the new AI-driven Comet browser for one year.
