For the first time in Bangladesh’s telecom sector, Banglalink has introduced a fire and lightning accident protection insurance bundle tailored for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). To make this possible, the telecom operator has signed a partnership agreement with Green Delta Insurance PLC, a leading non-life insurance company.

The new bundle combines Banglalink’s voice and data services with insurance coverage against losses caused by fire and lightning strikes.

On Tuesday, August 25, Banglalink announced that the agreement had recently been signed at its headquarters, “Tiger’s Den,” in the capital.

Commenting on the initiative, Muhammad Abdul Hai, Director of B2B Marketing & New Business at Banglalink, said, “In today’s world, staying connected is essential for business, but staying protected is equally important. This partnership with Green Delta will safeguard entrepreneurs from accident risks such as fire and lightning while also ensuring they remain connected with their customers and business communities. Through our DO1440 strategy, our aim is to create new opportunities every moment of the day for young people as well as customers and enterprises across the country. At the same time, we want to ensure protection for our customers; because they are our first priority.”

Syed Moinuddin Ahmed, Additional Managing Director of Green Delta Insurance, added, “This is the first time in the telecommunications sector that such an initiative has been undertaken, where small business owners or entrepreneurs will be able to receive insurance protection against accidents caused by fire and lightning. We believe this partnership will play a vital role in building a financially sustainable and inclusive society.”

The event was attended by senior officials from both organizations. From Banglalink, attendees included CEO Erik Aas, Deputy CEO Zahrat Adib Chowdhury, Chief Digital Officer Golam Kibria, Deputy Director of Digital Financial Services Rasheda Sultana, Head of B2B Product & Marketing Rafi E.
