Bangladesh to Begin Online Visas for Pakistani Businesspeople

In a move aimed at accelerating regional economic growth, the Government of Bangladesh has announced plans to simplify the visa process for Pakistani businesspeople. As part of this initiative, Bangladesh will begin issuing online visas to Pakistani traders starting in December this year.
The announcement was made by Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Iqbal Hussain Khan, during a meeting with members of the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GTCCI) in Lahore on Saturday.
According to Pakistan’s leading English daily Dawn, the High Commissioner stated, “We are planning to launch an online visa system from December this year to facilitate smoother access to visa services for applicants.”
Iqbal Hussain Khan further remarked, “The Government of Bangladesh considers Pakistan a gateway to the Central Asian countries.”
He emphasized that Bangladesh prioritizes regional stability and economic development, and as part of this commitment, special efforts are being made to ease the visa process for business communities.
The High Commissioner also mentioned that a system for issuing visas to commercial representatives between the two countries is already underway.
The event was also addressed by GTCCI President Bau Munir, former President Ali Ansar Ghumman, Ahmed Hasan Mattu, and General Secretary Usman Muzaffar.
