Elon Musk Donates $112 Million in Tesla Shares
Elon Musk, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals and the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has once again made headlines. Recent reports reveal that Musk has donated Tesla shares worth approximately $112 million.
According to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the donation was part of Musk’s “year-end tax planning.” The shares were donated to “several charitable organizations,” although the specific recipients were not disclosed. The filing also indicated that the charities have no plans to sell the donated shares.
This is not the first time Musk has made significant donations. In 2022, he donated Tesla shares worth about $1.95 billion, and in 2021, he donated shares valued at $5.7 billion. These contributions are reported to have been made to Musk’s personal foundation.
Despite these substantial donations, Musk remains the wealthiest person in the world, according to Bloomberg. His current net worth exceeds $415 billion, and he still owns around 411 million Tesla shares, representing approximately 13% of the company’s total shares.
