19 Civic Services Become Digital
15 Cantonment Boards Launch Services on myGov
- Fifteen cantonment boards integrate nineteen civic services onto central myGov e-platform
- Citizens can obtain QR-coded certificates and trade licenses using online payment tools
- Initiative implemented by DMLC, Cabinet Division, and a2i for paperless e-governance
In a major advancement toward paperless e-governance and administrative transparency, 19 core civic services across 15 cantonment boards in Bangladesh have been digitized and integrated into the national portal 'myGov'.
Formally inaugurated during a virtual ceremony on Monday (October 19, 2026), the tech integration launches 185 standardized online application forms. Muhammad Anwar Uddin, Project Director (Additional Charge) of Aspire to Innovate (a2i) and Additional Secretary, attended as the chief guest. The event was chaired by Shamim Ahammed, Director General of the Department of Military Lands and Cantonments (DMLC), with Cabinet Division Joint Secretary Md. Kamrul Hassan attending as a special guest.
Spearheaded by DMLC under the Ministry of Defence, the system was built under the Cabinet Division's supervision with technical infrastructure support from a2i.
Under the automated workflow, citizens can apply remotely for digital trade licenses, citizenship, inheritance, and character certificates, utility connections, vehicle passes, and developer enlistment. The portal supports integrated digital payment gateways and generates QR-coded verifiable certificates, alongside end-to-end application tracking and user feedback tools.
The initiative expands on a pilot launched at Dhaka Cantonment Board in February 2025. Following extensive regional workshops and technical training for 140 cantonment officials in August and September, the centralized portal streamlines verification, inquiries, and digital approval cycles, eliminating manual paperwork and physical visits.
