CTJ Constitutes Committee for 2026–27

Research and development platform in the information technology and telecommunications sector, Center for Technology Journalism (CTJ), has announced its new executive committee for the 2026–27 term. Hasan Zakir, Assistant Editor of Daily Samakal, has been elected President, while Saiful Ahmad Saif, Staff Reporter of Daily Jugantor, has assumed the responsibility of Secretary General.

The announcement of the newly formed committee was made through a press release on Thursday, February 19.

In the one-year term committee, M. Mizanur Rahman Sohel, Online Editor of Daily Kalbela, will serve as Vice President.

Other office bearers include: Director (Organizational) Shawon Solaiman, Senior Reporter of Rupali Bangladesh; Director (Finance) Hamidur Rahman, Staff Reporter of Ittefaq; Director (Research and Development) Zahidul Islam Asha, Researcher at Jamuna TV; and Director (Public Relations and Publications) Mirajul Islam Jibon, Chief Reporter of Techzoom.tv.

Additionally, Abbas Uddin Noyon, Chief Reporter of The Business Standard, and Omar Fahian Hamim, Reporter at Maasranga TV, will serve as Directors.

The organization’s advisory panel includes Abdul Haque Anu, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF); Pallab Mohaimen, In-Charge of New Media Initiative at Prothom Alo; and Nazmul Haque Shyamol, Editor of Daily Notun Shomoy.

CTJ President Hasan Zakir said, “Alongside mainstream ICT and telecommunications journalism, our platform also includes leading university academics specializing in ICT and telecom. We hope the new committee will play an effective role in advancing both journalism and the technology sector.”

Secretary General Saif Ahmad added, “Bangladesh’s ICT and telecommunications sector holds immense potential. To harness this potential, timely policymaking, research, and objective journalism are essential. In the current session, CTJ will place special emphasis on policy research and dialogue.”
