Tisha’s Tangled Tale: Jamdani Dispute Puts Actress in Social Spotlight
Actress Tanzin Tisha has found herself entangled in controversy over a Jamdani saree received from a female entrepreneur. The entrepreneur has accused Tisha of deception, alleging that the actress failed to fulfill a promotional commitment after receiving the saree.
Responding to the allegation, Tisha posted a sarcastic remark on her verified Facebook page, writing, “I took a gift and suddenly became a fraud! Haha! If you wanted a photoshoot, where’s the payment? Strange entrepreneur! Salute to your gift!”
The post has gone viral across social media platforms, generating a flood of comments, replies, and emojis. Beyond mere ‘net-tainment,’ the incident has unexpectedly brought attention to a clothing brand named Aeponia. The brand, launched in 2021 as a Facebook-based clothing venture, is owned by entrepreneur Bilkis Wazi Jhinuk.
Tisha, who is set to make her film debut opposite popular actor Shakib Khan in Soldier, has been accused of “breaking her promise after receiving a free saree.”
According to the entrepreneur, Tisha contacted her through Instagram expressing interest in purchasing a Jamdani saree. In response, Bilkis offered to sponsor the saree on the condition that Tisha would promote it by wearing it publicly.
Bilkis Wazi told the media, “After receiving the saree, Tisha Apa called me and said she loved it very much. She assured me she would handle the promotion nicely. But two months passed without any update. I tried to contact her, but there was no response. It’s been ten months now—she hasn’t done the promotion nor paid for the saree. At this point, I just want the saree’s payment back. Otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to take legal action.”
The incident reportedly began in January of this year. Despite repeated attempts to reach her through calls, voice messages, and WhatsApp, the entrepreneur claimed she never received a response from the actress.
Following media reports on the allegation, Tisha officially reacted on her Facebook page. Although she did not directly mention Aeponia in her statement, the brand name has started gaining visibility through discussions and comments under her post.
Meanwhile, another fashion brand has shared a photo of Tisha wearing a Jamdani saree on Instagram, though not identifying it as part of the disputed promotion.
