Bangladeshi Youth to Explore Drone Design in China

Under the patronage of the Chinese Embassy, 11 young Bangladeshis are set to travel to China to learn about drone technology and the related industry. This was announced by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Cultural Affairs Adviser to the interim government, following a joint press conference with Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, 13 August, during a program and press briefing at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, organized ahead of the drone training.

“Drones are a new medium for storytelling. They represent a fusion of technology and art. They are also a key tool for narrative creation. Recently, six drone shows presented with China’s collaboration have become immensely popular among the younger generation,” said Mostofa Sarwar Farooki during his keynote speech.

He added, “Many young people worked behind these drone shows. They brainstormed to identify potential creative areas. We observed that these shows generated significant audience engagement.”

The month-long training will be conducted in Shanghai and Guangzhou, China, with all associated costs covered by the Chinese side.

Farooki further noted that a 15-member team will soon travel to China for training in artwork preservation and will return to provide instruction in Bangladesh. Another team will visit China to support the expansion of museums.

He expressed optimism that the collaboration between Bangladesh’s Ministry of Culture and China will open new avenues for the promotion of traditional and new media as well as the preservation of cultural heritage. Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen assured full cooperation in these initiatives.
