Bangladesh and Uzbekistan Bond: IT Boost

Uzbekistan and Bangladesh have reached a consensus to work together for the development and advancement of the IT sector. On Wednesday, 13 August, during a courtesy meeting, the parties discussed mutual cooperation in this sector. The meeting brought together Uzbekistan IT Park CEO Abdulakhad Kuchkarov and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam.
The embassy’s First Secretary Shukla Banik, Dildora, Head of International Relations at Uzbekistan IT Park, and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
During the discussion, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam briefed CEO Kuchkarov on Bangladesh’s IT sector potential, investment opportunities, export revenue, the use of IT across banking and financial sectors, socio-economic applications, youth interest in IT, the rise of young entrepreneurs, and internet quality and coverage. He highlighted various government initiatives, programs, and incentives aimed at fostering IT development and progress.
The ambassador also suggested that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the IT authorities of the two countries could be executed to further expand collaboration. He emphasized the importance of visa facilitation to strengthen business, investment, and communication across all sectors, including IT.
On his part, CEO Kuchkarov briefed the ambassador on Uzbekistan’s IT achievements and potential, stressing the importance of making bilateral cooperation more meaningful and productive. Praising Bangladesh’s progress in the IT sector, he noted that both countries have opportunities to collaborate internationally, especially in the Middle East and Africa. He also expressed a positive response toward finalizing a memorandum of understanding with Bangladesh’s relevant authorities.
