Gildan’s Generosity: Ramadan Iftar Drive for the Underprivileged

Inspired by the spirit of compassion and humanity during the holy month of Ramadan, globally renowned apparel manufacturer Gildan has undertaken a unique and large-scale initiative to support the underprivileged. In collaboration with Jaago Foundation and Volunteers for Bangladesh, over a hundred Gildan employees actively participated in this humanitarian effort.
Under this initiative, a total of 3,500 iftar packs were distributed across three key locations in Bangladesh. The distribution took place on March 17 in Gulshan, Dhaka; on March 19 in AK Khan Road, Chattogram; and on March 21 in Savar. Each iftar pack included a nutritious assortment of hearty meals, dates, jujube, bananas, yogurt, and water—ensuring a wholesome and healthy iftar for low-income families, daily wage earners, and financially disadvantaged individuals observing Ramadan.
More than 350 Gildan employees, along with 95 volunteers from Jaago Foundation and Volunteers for Bangladesh, worked together to successfully execute the program. Their efforts extended beyond mere distribution, as they engaged directly with the recipients, spreading a message of kindness and fostering a sense of shared responsibility within the community.
Ramadan is a symbol of empathy and generosity, and this initiative by Gildan, Jaago Foundation, and Volunteers for Bangladesh stands as a remarkable example of corporate social responsibility. Expressing gratitude for Gildan’s humanitarian gesture, Jaago Foundation and Volunteers for Bangladesh acknowledged the significance of such efforts. This initiative highlights the positive impact of corporate volunteering, setting an inspiring example of workplace empathy, social accountability, and responsible corporate culture.
