JUST Vice Chancellor mourns the death of a Senior Driver
Jashore Science and Technology University-JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of a Senior Driver of the University Md. Mofizur Rahman.
On Monday night, Md. Mofizur Rahman breathed his last while he was under treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun.
In a condolence message Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain said, Md. Mofizur Rahman was a senior car driver of JUST. His contribution was immense in taking the university forward. As soon as the news of his illness was heard, everyone, including the university administration, stood united. Thanks to all concerned for this. Mofizur Rahman's untimely death has cast a shadow of grief among the JUST family members. I deeply mourn his death and pray for his departed soul to rest in peace. At the same time, I express my deepest condolences to his family and longtime colleagues.
Meanwhile,
Jessore Science and Technology University Teachers’ Association, Officials and Employees’ Association expressed deep grief over the death of Md. Mofizur Rahman. At the same time, various social and cultural organizations of the university and students from all levels have expressed deep grief and sorrow.
On the other hand, the JUST Karmachari Samiti filed a written complaint with the registrar blaming the discourteous behavior of the transport administrator behind his suicide attempt.
It is said that, in the complaint, the transport administrator of the transport department Dr. Zafirul Islam behaved disrespectfully with the driver-helpers working in the transport department in the university since joining. Even after the mileage was determined by the oil measuring committee, the transport administrator called the driver-helpers working part-time as oil thieves.
The deceased Mofizur Rahman tried to commit suicide by pouring petrol on his body at his home in Ambattala area adjacent to the university last Friday (December 29) at night. When he was taken to Jessore Sadar Hospital in an injured condition, the doctor on duty of the emergency department ordered him to be transferred to Dhaka Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery without admitting him there. According to family sources, about 80 percent of his body was burnt.
