City IT Mega Fair is going on at BCS Computer City
The 24th edition of the City IT Mega Fair has started in the capital from Monday with a collection of authorized technology products including computers, laptops, printers, monitors and CC cameras of the latest technology through cutting the ribbon as usually. The fair started with the slogan 'Technology, Highway to Smart Bangladesh' will continue for 6 days. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated the fair in the afternoon. State Minister for Public Administration, Farhad Hossain and Bangladesh Computer Samity President Subrata Sarkar were present.
While speaking, Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said at the inauguration ceremony, “The two biggest foundations of Smart Bangladesh are digital connectivity and digital skills. The computer industry has contributed a lot to the creation of these digital skills. People have come to know how to use any computer or any software through this market. I am very glad that our BCS Computer City organizes fairs regularly. Through this fair, a gathering of buyers and sellers is created. On the other hand, through this fair, buyers get an opportunity to check out various products.”
On the occasion, State Minister for Public Administration, Farhad Hossain said, “Change management is an important issue nowadays. Where work hours, and types are changing based on new technologies. For that I think ICT fairs should be organized. We can introduce new devices to the new generation through this.”
Bangladesh Computer Samity-BCS President, Engineer Subrata Sarkar said, “Despite many obstacles, we have been able to hold this fair. There is no denying the role we have played in building digital Bangladesh. Due to our lot of hard work, sacrifice, talent, and money, today this country has transformed into Digital Bangladesh. We will continue to contribute to the progress of this project of the government.”
AL Mazhar Imam Chowdhury, president of BCS Computer City, said that various world famous brands are participating in this fair. Besides, there will be attractive discounts and rewards for buying any approved product. This year's fair will host gaming competition, PC Battle Show, Laptop Battle Show, and Facebook Reel Competition for buyers and visitors along with shopping discounts. There is also a painting competition. The fair premises will be open daily from 10 am to 8 pm. The fair will continue till October 7.
Mohammad Zaheed Ali Bhuiyan, convener of City IT Mega Fair, said that the IDB fair is the fair of our lives. It is expected that the traffic of buyers and visitors will increase a lot in this fair due to the launch of Metrorail. This year's City IT Mega Fair will have pavilions of sponsoring organizations. The fair will have participant stalls in addition to sponsor organization pavilions. The fair has world renowned brands like Asus, Dahua, Epson, HP, Hikvision, Infinix, Lenovo and MSI as sponsors.
