6 students are flying for Oslo to compete in International Mathematics Olympiad

The 63rd International Mathematical Olympiad is going to be held in Oslo, the capital city of Norway from Wednesday. However, the main inauguration with the participation of students will be on July 10. There are tests on the next two days. Bangladesh is going to take part in the International Mathematics Olympiad for 18th time. Six little mathematicians are going to Oslo on July 8 bearing the flag of Bangladesh to join this challenge. They are SMA Nahyan of Samsul Haque Khan School and College, Md. Ashraful Islam Fahim and Tahmid Hamim Chowdhury of Notre Dame School and College, Tahajib Hossain Khan of Government Anand Mohan College, Nuzhat Ahmed Disha of Viquarunnisa Noon School and College and Md. Fouad Al Alam of Dhaka Residential Model College. The Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Committee introduced the team to the media at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday. Prof. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Vice President of Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Committee introduced the participants. Shahidur Rahman Khan, Managing Director (Current Responsibilities) of Dutch-Bangla Bank, Abdul Qayyum, Associate Secretary of Prothom Alo and Munir Hasan, General Secretary of Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Committee were present at the press conference. It was informed at the press conference that besides the six competitors from Bangladesh, Maths Olympiad team coach Mahbub Majumder, former International Maths Olympiad team member Asif-e-Elahi, Tahanik Noor Samin and Bangladesh Maths Olympiad coordinator Bayazid Bhuiyan are also attending the event. Bangladesh has been participating in the International Mathematics Olympiad since 2005. So far, Bangladesh has achieved 1 gold, 7 silver, 31 bronze and 33 honorary recognitions.
