New Vice Chancellor Joins Gopalganj Science University

A change has been made to the administrative leadership of Gopalganj Science and Technology University to further accelerate science and technology practices in the country's higher education sector. It is expected that the university's academic and research activities will gain more momentum with the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor.
On 19 July, Sunday, the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education issued a notification appointing Dr. Md. Nazmus Sadat to the post of Vice Chancellor.
The notification stated, "With the approval of the President and Chancellor, according to Section 10 (1) of the Gopalganj Science and Technology University Act, 2001 (Amended-2025), Dr. Md. Nazmus Sadat, Professor of Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline at Khulna University, has been appointed to the post of Vice Chancellor." The notification further added that his tenure will be for four years from the date of joining or until his retirement date, whichever comes earlier. He will receive salary and allowances equal to his current position and enjoy other benefits related to the post as per rules.
As the chief executive officer of the university, he will reside on the campus full-time. The President and Chancellor can cancel this appointment at any time if necessary. In another order, Professor Hossein Uddin Shekhar of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Dhaka University, who was appointed as VC on October 29, 2024, was relieved from the post.
