Administrative Reshuffle: Key Secretary-Level Changes in Posts & Telecom and Textiles & Jute
The government has carried out a major reshuffle in top administrative positions within the Ministry of Textiles and Jute and the Posts and Telecommunications Division. According to a notification issued by the Senior Appointments-1 Wing of the Ministry of Public Administration, the current Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, Begum Bilkis Jahan Rimi (6394), has been transferred and appointed as Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division. The order, issued in the public interest, has been directed to take immediate effect.
Following her transfer, the vacant Secretary position at the Ministry of Textiles and Jute has been filled through a contractual appointment of Abdun Naser Khan (6354).
Meanwhile, as the tenure of Abdun Naser Khan as Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division has ended, he has been appointed as Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute on a one-year contractual basis.
Separate notifications state that, in accordance with Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018, Abdun Naser Khan has been appointed for a period of one year from the date of joining, subject to the suspension of his post-retirement leave and related benefits.
As per the terms of the appointment, he will not be permitted to engage in any other profession or hold employment with any other organization, and the remaining conditions of his service will be governed by the contract agreement.
Copies of the administrative orders, issued by order of the President, have been sent to all relevant offices, including the Cabinet Secretary and the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, for information and necessary action. It is expected that this reshuffle will play a significant role in sustaining digital transformation in the ICT and telecommunications sector, as well as maintaining administrative dynamism in the textiles and jute sector.
Begum Bilkis Jahan Rimi will now assume her responsibilities as Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division, while Abdun Naser Khan will take charge as the administrative head of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
