United States-based technology giant Amazon has announced plans to invest €1 billion (approximately $1.16 billion) in Belgium between 2025 and 2027, according to Belgian newspaper L’Echo, as reported by Reuters.

The company stated that the investment aims to strengthen Belgium’s infrastructure, enhance collaboration with the Belgian postal service Bpost, and expand partnerships with local small and medium-sized enterprises.

Eva Faict, Amazon’s Country Manager for Belgium and the Netherlands, said, “The goal of this investment is to make the delivery network in Belgium more efficient and to introduce same-day delivery service.”

Currently, Amazon employs around 400 people in Belgium and has invested €800 million in the country over the past decade, the report added.
