BNP Warns Over Fake Facebook Candidate List
A purported list of candidates for the upcoming national parliamentary elections, allegedly from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has gone viral on social media platform Facebook. The BNP has categorically dismissed the list as fake.
In a statement signed by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday, September 30, the BNP clarified the matter.
The statement read: “Some vested quarters are circulating a fake list of candidates on Facebook. The list is entirely false, fabricated, and being spread with malicious intent. This list has not been issued by the BNP office and has no connection with the party.”
Rizvi further urged BNP leaders, activists, and the general public not to be misled by the fake list circulating online.
