KSRM Calls for Bangladesh’s Brightest Designs in 6th ‘Awards for Future Architects’
Steel maker KSRM and the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) have launched the sixth edition of the “KSRM Awards for Future Architects: Best Undergraduate Thesis,” aiming to spotlight visionary final‑year projects from the nation’s 15 architecture schools.
At a joint press briefing held Thursday at the IAB auditorium in Agargaon, IAB President Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed confirmed that a five‑member jury of senior architects will review campus‑nominated theses and select three national winners. A four‑day public exhibition of the shortlisted works opens 27 April at the IAB Centre and runs through 30 April, 10 a.m.‑8 p.m. An award ceremony is scheduled for 26 April, where adviser Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan is expected to confer the prizes.
Under a 10‑year memorandum signed in 2019, KSRM provides the annual honours: ৳100,000 for first place, ৳75,000 for second and ৳50,000 for third, along with crests and certificates.
KSRM General Manager (Market Research & Development) Col. (Retd.) Ashfaq‑ul Islam said the award has become “a crucial platform for showcasing innovative student projects,” underscoring the company’s belief that architecture shapes cities, culture and future needs.
Participating institutions include BUET, CUET, Khulna University, SUST, North South University, AIUB, BRAC University, Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology, Stamford University, Southeast University, State University, Leading University, Daffodil International University, University of Asia Pacific and Bangladesh University.
