OpenAI Unveils GPT-4.1 Series with Enhanced Coding Capabilities
OpenAI has launched its latest lineup of artificial intelligence models under the GPT-4.1 series, including GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 Mini, and GPT-4.1 Nano. These models are designed with advanced capabilities for computer programming and precise instruction following, according to a report by TechCrunch.
Capable of analyzing up to one million tokens simultaneously, these multimodal models are currently available exclusively through OpenAI's programming interface (API).
OpenAI stated that the new models are expected to be more effective in real-world software engineering tasks. The flagship GPT-4.1 model scored between 52% and 54.6% in coding tests—slightly below Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro and Anthropic’s Claude 3.7 Sonnet.
The pricing for GPT-4.1 has been set at $2 per million tokens of input and $8 per million tokens of output. The Nano version stands out as the fastest and most cost-effective option for users.
