SUST under blockade
The agitating students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have blocked the road inside the campus by boycotting class-exams in the wake of the strike in the hall demanding three points including the WiFi problem in the hall and the quality of food.
The students started protesting on Sunday (January 18) at 9:30 am at the entrance of the university for the fourth day demanding three points including the resignation of the Begum Sirajunnesa Chowdhury Hall provost body. This program was going on even after 11 o'clock.
As a result of the blockade, buses of teachers and students, private vehicles and other vehicles were stopped on both sides of the road. The teachers-students and officials-employees of the university have suffered eventually.
The students have been protesting on the campus since the night of January 13.
In a meeting with the students on Friday, the Vice-Chancellor assured that all the problems including the WiFi problem in the hall and the quality of food would be solved immediately. An assistant provost is assigned to act as the provost in charge of the students in the hall. Hall Provost Associate Professor Jafrin Ahmed Liza was on leave after being Corona positive and Associate Professor Jobeda Konak Khan was given the responsibility of Provost. But the agitating students are demanding the resignation of all members of the provost body as well as justice for the attack they endured.
